For the NORNORM video, we wanted to showcase more than just furniture. We aimed to convey what the brand represents: attention to detail, a sense of atmosphere, and a love for craftsmanship. Therefore, we chose a visual approach where light, movement, and rhythm together tell the story.
How we work with light
To bring the day to life, we used one large light source, which we distributed across the set via mirrors. This allowed us to direct the light precisely and evoke every time of day—from fresh morning light to warm afternoon light. Each scene thus gained its own atmosphere while the overall appearance remained calm and natural.
WIP
Between scenes, we used WIP transitions: quick camera movements that smoothly guide you from one setting to another. This keeps the viewer in continuous motion, as if experiencing an entire workday in just a few seconds. It adds energy and pace to the editing, without becoming restless.
Frame by frame
For the ending, we wanted to show the breadth of the NorNorm range. We did this frame by frame: filming each piece of furniture in exactly the same place, replacing them one by one. By placing the images rapidly in succession, a playful, rhythmic sequence was created in which the entire range flashes by.
