Quiet power, major impact
In this project, Heerema showed that the future of offshore wind energy can be as quiet as it is impressive. Our role, to make that message land, clearly and convincingly.
A technical challenge with real constraints
160 decibels, that’s the strict noise limit for offshore construction in the German North Sea. With background noise already at 130 to 140 decibels, there’s little margin left.
Heerema needed to install massive wind turbines under these conditions. Traditional piling methods were simply too loud. The challenge, how do you install monopiles six meters in diameter and 100 meters long, without disturbing the underwater environment? And how do you prove you’re the first to make it work?
Two stories, one narrative
This innovation called for more than a standard corporate video. We developed a storytelling framework that brings together two narratives, the technical breakthrough in noise reduction, and the people behind it.
By combining technical depth with human drive, we created a film that engages both engineers and decision-makers.
From attention to recognition
The 15-minute documentary, along with a shorter version for social media, generated strong engagement among Heerema’s audience, and sparked significant internal enthusiasm around the project.
The work was also nominated for a Maritime Achievement Award, recognizing its societal impact within the maritime sector.
